Ep. 176: The Heat Is On

Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was char-grilled to a crisp Tuesday through Friday during his four 14 hour days before the Senate Judiciary Committee. While wounded three times during these hearings, the question is if these wounds were fatal enough to slow or stop the nomination of a man who lied to Congress multiple time, not exactly the characteristics one wants to see in an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Former President Obama hit the campaign trail with a blistering assessment of his Presidency, it embrace of Nazis and difficult relationship with the truth. In an hour-long speech at the University of Illinois Champange-Urbana, he broke with tradition of refraining from criticizing the current president as an immediate past-president and threw down the challenge to voters to show up as only 1 in 5 young Dems came out in 2016. Trump fumed over an anonymous Op Ed to the New York Times discussing the staff coup to keep the world safer under Trump. And the coffee boy George Papadopoulos, former top campaign foreign relations advisor will spend 14 days in prison. We discuss his role as patient zero, starting the FBI investigation by drinking with an Australian diplomat here in London and losing his shit. Boris Johnson is back on the market and Theresa May is still facing battles of Brexit and her leadership.
