‘This guy is a complete thug’: Morning Joe rips Trump’s pardon of Sheriff Joe as an impeachable offense

Shortly after pardoning Arpaio, the president signaled his support for another controversial lawman — Sheriff David Clarke Jr. — whose office was under investigation for the deaths of inmates house at the jail he runs.

“Donald Trump mistakes this for being tough on law and order,” Scarborough said. “Again, even the law enforcement officers in Arizona have shunned this guy. The Bush administration started the investigation. This is obvious to Republicans and Democrats alike that this guy is a complete thug.”

Scarborough and his guests discussed Arpaio’s “absolutely shocking” record as sheriff, such as ignoring child abuse cases because they involved the children of immigrants and “concentration camp” conditions at his detention centers.

“The Arizona law enforcement community hates Arpaio, because he gives them all a bad name because he’s been a complete thug and has punished people basically amounting, doing some things amounting to torture,” Scarborough said.
