I walked into the church I pastored on Sunday morning August 28, 2005. Hurricane Katrina had roared through Now Orleans the two days before. Scenes from the air depicted a pageant of horror and my congregation was near lethargy. In an effort the members stood with hopeful smiles an optimistically voiced word to encourage; “just wait till the National Guard gets there’ or ‘ we’ll feel better when we see those hundreds of Marine and Reserve truck arrive.
I stood trying to decide between telling them the truth and agreeing in rah-rah fashion. I was caught between the rock and the hard place. I choose the truth.
I hate to break the bad news, but in following national event closely, I must tell you: ‘NO MILITARY IS COMING!!!’ you see the TRUTH was ALL OF OUR TROOPS and TRUCKS – EVERYTHING was in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Today I’m AGAIN caught between “the rock and a hard place.”
PUERTO RICO is a REPEAT – DITTO!!
I live in the greatest place in history. I am an American, better yet, a White American, having received every benefit of that office, including the most phenomenal of educations ever bestowed upon a person.
I receive excellent medical care, an adequate retirement income, live in a great home in a fabulous neighborhood and have three living children, healthy grandchildren and now wonderful great grandchildren. If I say anything derogatory about American society, I feel like a rat!” WOW R & HP!!!”
Unfortunately, for my peace, my gratitude toward God for being so blest, pushes me to yield to a call to prophesy to my own people. Amidst all this blessing, that great education demands I look at the whole picture and share that with my fellow travelers, that which we don’t want to hear:” OUR NATION HAS GONE BAD!” It’s much like standing in that pulpit, the morning after Katrina, having knowledge my church needed to hear.
We lost our way just after WWII and, as a result, we have become a predator nation over the rest of the world.
Our grandest of all sins, and we are now the greatest sinner in history, is our addiction to WAR. Beginning with our first elicit experiment in Korea, through the blood lust we gained and choked on in Vietnam, we gradually have refined our skills at destroying nations, and exploiting others in their growing struggles. We drain these nations of all their assets and sense of self, as we extract all the wealth of the world into our treasuries. That is the spring from which our medical care, full grocery baskets and 401 K’s are funded.
In a UN speech our President continually referred to our relationship with the worldwide body as a “loser for us.” He was decrying our relationship, explaining “we give and get nothing in exchange.” Actually the TRUTH is much the opposite. In reality, we have paid the lion’s share of the UN’s cost (something I have written against for years), but the REAL truth is, we have used the cover of the UN to wreck 20% of the countries on earth. From San Salvador, Costa Rica, Chili and Argentina through Vietnam, Granada, Haiti, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria and Iraq, we went to the United Nations, usurping its power and used it as a smoke screen. All this was long before Don Trump and the alt right.
Perfected first by the Romans, now adopted by us FOR PROFIT, it turned both our peoples into BAD peoples.
I follow in a long line of prophetic speakers, who have found themselves speaking truth to power. They, too, were, cursed by their family and friends. Unfortunately, for the nation of Israel, their scholars wrote down, for all history to read, their adventures. Many of their profiles match mine exactly. They were ignored and made fun of, and everyone thought them crazy. Their religions were out to get them (see Elijah and the Temple Prophets), their rulers wanted them dead and their wives left them – it is a lonely calling; yet I have to scream at my own people whom I love – STOP IT!
One final note: Look at the society we have created on the blood of others. The main thing I hear, privately from you, in emails and phone calls is: “What the hell is wrong with America?” This as your dealings in business are such a struggle, our computers are hacked and our programs crash daily and we are ripped off at every turn. Our vocational lives are in ruin, downsized and out at 55 – You ask: “What’s wrong”? If that’s not enough our own evil killing spree has come home to roast. Our government tells us we need to give up our Social Security, Medicaid, health insurance and social programs that save us and our families. The REAL reason is our GDP and our Treasury is paying out trillions to buy bullets, tanks, jeeps, war ships and bribe money for foreign officials to control their populations!
So here’s the bottom line: You cannot live at peace and prosper, on a sea of ill-gotten gold. This sea of evil will rise to invade your family, your body, your assets and your world. The only cure is to -STOP IT! NOW; STOP IT: Change our nation’s priorities from demanding more, be satisfied with less, while demanding social honesty. Dilute universal competition with big doses of consideration and compassion. STOP demanding it “all,” and strive to share more. Above all STOP tolerating a warrior society and begin living – For God’s Sake.
