Moore spokesman calls sex assault accusers ‘criminals’

A rep for Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore said Tuesday that the women who accused him of sexual misconduct are “criminals” who are “seeking revenge” — arguing that there were plenty of “non-accusers that did not accuse the judge of any sexual misconduct.”

Janet Porter, Moore’s spokeswoman, made the jaw-dropping statements during an interview on CNN in which she repeated Moore’s claim that all of the women who have accused him are liars.

Asked specifically about Leigh Corfman, who said Moore groped her in 1979 when she was 14 and he was in his 30s, and whose story was backed up by more than two dozen others, Porter lashed out.

“No, they did not” corroborate her story, she said.

“We need to make it clear. We need to make it clear there’s a group of non-accusers, that have not accused the judge of anything illegal.”
