Ep 117: ‘I Shot the Sheriff’

45’s firing of FBI Director James Comey continues to reverberate across Washington and the world as Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller, the former FBI Director who preceded Comey and is described as ‘Comey before he was Comey,’ as special counsel. Loaded with integrity and a serious, focused lawman, he was asked to stay on for two more years by then President Obama who feared changing SecDef, Homeland security and others would cause disruption in the nation’s key security agencies (HA!). Now he has been in private practice since leaving the FBI working on little cases like the NFL inquiry into spousal/girlfriend abuse cases, Volkswagon’s emission test settlement with several governments and the Takata individual air bag settlements.

Why did deputy Rod and not AG Sessions make the appointment? Because Rod is Acting AG on all matters Russian because of AG Sessions recusal. And yet Jeff Sessions was in on the Comey firing. You truly cannot make this up.

Last week we Trump brutally ‘shot’ Sheriff Comey just before he walked onstage before a group of FBI recruits 3,000 miles away in Los Angeles (and wanted to deny him a return flight to DC on the Justice Department plane back to DC). But what’s the next line of that Bob Marley then Eric Clapton Song? “But I did not shoot the deputy.” Andy McCabe testified on Capitol Hill the next day in direct rebuttal to 45 that Comey was well respected by his colleagues. So much so FBI staff put his picture on their social media profiles and the US flag flew at half mast outside the FBI building in DC. And these deputies are making his life a living hell with leaks as 45 utters lie after lie whilst the ‘dep-u-ties’ do their jobs and tighten the obstruction of justice noose around his neck. The Comey memo was leaked just 48 hours ago and every night my phone explodes with breaking news. I need my sleep Donald!

45 also released highly classified information to two Russian spymasters in the OVAL Office that has put the life of an Israeli Mossad agent embedded in direct harm and welcomed Turkey’s dictator Edogan to the White House. What could go wrong?

The UK General Election is three weeks away and registration of young voters has dropped off a cliff. Millenials and school leaver registration is off 25% while my own son is pretty pissed off this snap election is happening two months before his 18th birthday. Labour issued a far-left manifesto that is resonating with more people than the Tories would like. If the last week is any indication, some in the party are worried by the calls to nationalise rails, mails and improve the NHS which has not fared well under the Tory seven-year watch.
