We submit for your approval (said in my best Rod Serling voice) the shambolic first week of the Trump Administration. Bluff bluster and self-congratulations standing before the solemn wall of the fallen at the CIA and boasted about his great coverage on FOX News. Torture’s back, immigration was placed on hold yesterday, cities were threatened with the loss of Federal Funds if they offered any immigrant sanctuary and the US is going to steal back the oil from the sovereign nation of Iraq as payment for our wars and loss? Rachel Maddow last night spent 8 minutes trying explain how this places big a target on the back of the 5,000 US troops in Iraq, working side by side with Iraqi forces as Trump’s own words circulate on social media… oh and YOU the American taxpayer, you’re paying for the wall, not Mexico… What could go wrong?
Theresa May flip-flopped, bobbed and weaved her way deeper into a hard Brexit mess, as the Supreme Court ordered that Parliament must weigh in before Article 50 can be triggered and she promised a white paper on Wednesday after saying on Tuesday there was no way she would ever allow a white paper. Oh and she moved the timetable back two weeks so we will trigger it in Mid-March bringing a much starker meaning to Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar’s admonition… Beware the Ides of March…
And 3 million people wearing hand knitted pink pussy hats marched on all seven continents to protest Donald Trump the day after his inauguration. Indeed fesh protests sprang up last night in New York and other cities in response to Immigration, The Wall (which btw the US taxpayer is paying for) and sanctuary cities. The Donald was most displeased…
